Honey Water Health Risks: Many people troubled by increased weight often consume honey mixed with a glass of warm water on an empty stomach in the morning. It is believed that this mixture helps in reducing the weight fast. But is it true? Does drinking water with honey really reduce weight? Dietician Mac Singh told through a post on his Instagram that honey water is not good for your health. Instead of giving as many advantages as you understand, it can give you many disadvantages.

Mac Singh told that if you look at the facts of a spoonful of honey, you will find that it has no nutrition other than calories and sugar. A small spoon of honey contains 6 grams of sugar and about 21 calories. While one tablespoon contains 17 grams of sugar and about 64 calories, due to which your weight can increase. According to Ayurveda, hot honey acts as a slow poison. This causes toxicity in the body, which can cause many diseases.

Honey dangerous for diabetic patients?

Honey water can also prove to be very dangerous for patients suffering from diabetes. Because there is presence of sugar in it, which is like poison for diabetic patients. It can increase the blood sugar level of such patients. However, not all experts believe so. According to the Indian Express report, people who have borderline diabetes and if they use normal sugar then they should start using honey instead. Because it also contains other minerals as compared to processed sugar.

According to experts, for weight loss, you can start consuming ajwain-cinnamon water instead of honey water. Because there is almost zero sugar and negligible calories in one teaspoon of celery and cinnamon. Citing a study, Mac Singh said that celery helps in reducing weight by reducing the size of the stomach.
